Crib and nap time

Eeek!  I layed CJ down AWAKE in his crib.  I went into peek at him and I found this!
A SLEEPING BABY!  Now I do not know how long it will last but hey, its a start.  I don't think I EVER laid Drew down awake and had him fall asleep, he was always asleep before I laid him down so this is amazing to me.

A few things to note in the pictures

#1 His folded hands.  Unless is is swaddled he always sleeps with his hands folded.  its the cutest thing ever, he prays while he sleeps.

#2 He has A LOT of stuff in his crib right now which I KNOW breaks ALL the baby rules but he is fine. trust me.  He is on a pillowcase with towels rolled up to make him feel all snuggly.  Then that is propped up on blankets so he is at an angle and not flat on his back.  The sheep you see makes noises like a heartbeat or ocean or a few others but he likes the heartbeat or the ocean.  Another machine is there that you can't see at night projects an image on the wall and also plays music or sleepy sounds.  I have them all playing at once and he likes it apparently!!  (once he starts moving around and gets his tummy figured out I swear I will take it all out of the crib)

#3 his bib.  He has to have it on b/c he SPITS up ALL THE TIME!  I talked to our doctor today and b/c of the spit-up and his poop issues we are switching him formula once again to Gentlease.  The new pediatrician isn't a fan of soy so I trust her so we are going to switch him.  They are giving me a few cans of free samples to try it out so I will be picking that up today.

#4 his pacifier.  Its his favorite. He used to take any pacifier.  Now he spits them all out except this one.  Its a NUK.  He has been needing it less and less so the medicine must be working! woot!

#5 He is in his crib*

#6 He is just so darn cute.  Gonna miss the little bugger when I got back to work on Monday (boo!).

*just for naps, at night I have him sleep in the fisher price rocker thing (not sure what to call it, borrowed it from a friend) and he has been sleeping in there fairly well.  Last night he only got up at 12:30 and at 4:30 and he went to bed at 8:30!  He didn't sleep well from 5-7 b/c he was tooting and having tummy issues but once we get those fixed we have potential here people!!

Oh my word...I love his sweet little hands together! How sweet. We've always used swaddling and lots of noise to help them sleep. Whatever works!

I think I already wrote this on your FB wall somewhere but we use Gentlease for Anderson. Seems to work well. The powder is a little tricky to mix... it seems to always have little clumps left even after a good shake. So we like to buy the cans. More expensive but sometimes worth it. Also seeing your sleep set-up reminded me of the "Nap Nanny" - have you seen it? They have them at Suite Dreams and I think they are made for babies who struggle with reflex. You might want to google it and check it out. Anyway, just a few thoughts. He is just so adorable! Good luck!

Whatever works for the little guy I say go for it. Good catch of a picture and he's getting there isn't he. I'm still a fan of you switching docs and it sounds like the move is paying off. Thanks for sharing.
