Drew's First Game

Ok. So I promise I will not post tons of pictures after each of Drew's games....maybe. :)  I HAVE to post at least the first.

It was a B-e-a-utiful day.  We went to the opening ceremonies in the morning.  You are supposed to go with your team and parade out onto the field, hear a speaker talk and watch the first pitch of the season. Well in TRUE Drew fashion he was shy and would not let go of me.  So there I go and parade onto the field with the team.



A pro baseball player talked, he is apparently from Ankeny.  Have no idea.

Parker and Brian watched from off the field and Parker HAD to show me his tongue from his blue Gatorade.



Ok. So the FIRST GAME.

Ready to play....Purple shoelaces and all.

    

I SWEAR these are the smallest pants I could find.

What you don't see is that Drew was supposed to play short stop.  But he REFUSED to put his glove on b/c he had a HUGE GASH small hangnail on his finger that hurt.  So I had to go find a band-aid and then he was all good.

What you don't see in the picture is right before this Drew would not bat b/c he HATES the helmet.  If its too small he refuses to wear it and bat.  He usually messes up the coaches batting order b/c there is only ONE he will wear.



We usually pitch to him.  So this first game he had a little trouble hitting the ball off the Tee.



When he hit it did he run?  NOPE!



His Band-aid fell off...OF COURSE

What I am LOVING about Tee ball is that everyone bats.  They play 3 innings. The kids are so cute.

It was so fun to watch.  His first game he had a little trouble batting and running the bases.

I worked with him that weekend on hitting off the Tee and moving to get the ball.

He had his second game on April 29th.   It was a Monday night and I forgot my camera b/c we were rushing to get there.  He did SOOO good. He hit the ball off the Tee EVERY TIME.  He did not let any balls get past him!  So proud of him.

His game got cancelled this past weekend because it was snowing (yes snowing) and raining.  He usually has one game during the week and one on Saturday.  That is A LOT of baseball.  He loves it and I love to watch him play.

It will be fun to see the improvement of the team from the first game to the last.
