I could not have gone through the past year + without this man. He was been 100% there for me and I trust him with my whole heart. I cannot wait to marry him and continue on this journey together and grow old together. It doesn't mean we won't have tough times but its such a relief to 100% trust someone without a shadow of doubt and they will fight for you.
I don't have any great pictures b/c all I had to take pictures was my iphone. But here is our engagement story.

We went to Minnesota the weekend of March 8th to get away and to do some shopping at IKEA. We decided to stay with my Aunt and Uncle who live up there. (if we didn't I'm sure we would have been disowned) :) Brian has been asking when we could have a get away weekend for awhile now, (and now I know why!) We had a date night Friday night and he made reservations at the Melting Pot.
(this is before we left....now that I look at it he may look a little stressed)

backstory: I was telling my friend Angie at work that we were having a date night and he made reservations and she says "you are going to get engaged" and I was like "no way that will happen this weekend, he hasn't sold the boat and we haven't even been ring shopping".
~~ So we were eating at the Melting Pot and I was telling him this story about Angie and he was like "what, can't a guy make reservations" and I was like "I know right!" We proceeded to have a great dinner (lasted 2 hours) and shard a bottle of wine.

best part. Dessert!!

We were walking down the street back to our car. There was no one in the street (odd) anyway Brian says "I love you, but there is one thing I would change about you" I was (a half a bottle of wine in) and sassily responded "oh ya...what's that" He says "Your last name" and reaches in his coat pocket, pulls out a box and gets down on one knee. "Alyssa Janell Gaskill will you Marry Me?" (I don't remember him using my full name but he says he did)
If I was a perfect woman tears would have burst from my eyes and I would have said yes yes yes!
but I'm not perfect and never react how I am supposed too. I looked at him with wide eyes and said "stop it" "shut up" "are you serious!?" yes!
Then I could not stop laughing. Seriously could not STOP. I just kept thinking about dinner and me saying I wasn't getting engaged this weekend, and everything leading up to Minnesota and I COULD not stop laughing.
He will tell you I just laughed at him. Poor man. Good thing is HE STILL wants to marry me. ;)
He picked the ring out all by himself and he did an AMAZING job in my opinion. The picture does not do it justice, you will have to see it in person.

I sure hope he knows what he is getting himself into....I'm a bit of a goof and he can be Mr. Serious pants but I think we work well together. :) (I can get him to do goofy things..exp: see below picture)

LOVE HIM.
