I have sooo many pictures to post but tonight I am only going to post about his soccer game and then going to bed. Its been a long busy busy weekend and I am exhausted!
WARNING THIS POST IS PICTURE OVERLOAD.
Last week we finally got around to buying Drew's shin guards and cleats for his first soccer game that was on Saturday. The first store we went to only had Nike in his size so I got him those cleats.
I wasn't thrilled b/c Soccer is Adidas, not Nike. So I checked out a second store AND THEY HAD ADIDAS in his size!!! So I bought the adidas cleats instead and returned the Nike ones.
Those of you who play soccer understand my craziness I'm sure.
He LOVES them and we had to try them out in the backyard.

(the groove you see in the grass is part of the path emma takes. the tall patches of grass you see...that is where emma pees. i love my dog. i love my dog. i love my dog. *sigh*)
Such Concentration.

So needless to say we were all pretty excited for his soccer game.
The first game was in the afternoon at 3:30. ugh. We had to wake him up for his nap,
he does not do well when you wake him up from his nap. It takes him a bit to wake up.
and then
we threw him into a situation he is not familiar with. double ugh. too funny.
He did not leave our sides for very long.
Here we are sitting waiting for everyone to get there for 'practice'.
Brad and I were there along with Bob and Terry and my friend Jenny Duffe. (I had a picture of them but it didn't upload to flickr for some reason and I am too tired to go find it)
These were at the practice.
Either Brad or I had to be out there with him and he did NOT want to participate.
He just wanted up and he kept trying to pull us away.
We did get him to kick the ball like 3 times at practice.

He is #44. c-u-t-e.

*sigh* yep that's me on the field during play. also notice I am not the only mom on the field.
it was a hysterical day. stressful. but awesome.
You could tell the who the kids were that had older siblings
....and the kids who were only child and/or the oldest sibling.
Terry was taking pictures for me and I laughed out loud when I came across this one.
BUSTED! I have no idea who he is.

He. was. not. having it.
Then we stopped MAKING him do it so we just sat and watched.
Notice the finger in the mouth. A CLEAR sign he is tired and/or uncomfortable.
...but HE REALLY wanted a huge marshmallow that Terry had with her.

At the end of the game lining up to shake hands. He made Brad line up with him.
Notice the ref. I think they wore him out.

He tried for a little bit and for that we are so proud of him.
and Drew was happy b/c he got his marshmallow. (told you it was ginormous)
oh. it was SUPER fun. He was starting to semi-get into it at the end of the game.
Hopefully next week will be better.
The game is in the morning so he should be more awake.
and hopefully not so clingy and ready to play.
Should be a fun. interesting season.
Hopefully I do not have to be on the field next time and can cheer from the sidelines. lol.
I had tons more pictures and they all make me laugh.
LOVE HIM TO PIECES AND WE THINK HE IS AWESOME.

I was a soccer player until I graduated High School....and yes it is all Adidas.
I loved your post, Drew will be the best soccer player out there.
and the butt scratcher...Hilarious
Oh wow....that one picture of who knows who he was...sorry but kind of funny! This was alot of fun. He did great when he got out there and it will take time. Pretty soon you'll have to hold him back because he wants to play ALL the time. Loved every minute of it and we have more marshmellows where that one came from (compliments of Auntie D!) Good Job Drew! We are proud of you!
Oh I think he did really good!! I can't even begin to imagine how D would have been - LOL! Great job, I love this blog post so much!!
